Vanity Upon Vanity: Our True Home is Not on Earth

One of the greatest truths the Bible teaches us is that Earth is not our permanent home. We are only passing through. Life here is a temporary journey, and every human being, no matter how powerful, rich, or poor, will face death. This reality is not meant to bring fear but wisdom, reminding us to live with eternity in mind. Life is Temporary The book of Ecclesiastes begins with a powerful declaration: “Vanity of vanities, says the Preacher, vanity of vanities! All is vanity.” (Ecclesiastes 1:2, ESV). King Solomon, the wisest man to ever live, had wealth, knowledge, and every earthly pleasure imaginable. Yet at the end of it all, he realized that everything under the sun is temporary. Money fades, beauty fades, kingdoms rise and fall, but our spirit lives on. Oba Aleshe – The King Who Never Fails Life is full of ups and downs. There are days when joy comes easily, and there are moments when trials seem overwhelming. But through it all, there is one truth we can hold onto: our God never fails. In Yoruba, one of the rich languages of Africa, He is called “Oba Aleshe” – The King Who Never Fails. --- God’s Unchanging Faithfulness The Bible consistently reveals God as faithful and unshakable. His promises are not like human promises that sometimes break. His words stand the test of time. “God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?” (Numbers 23:19). Every generation can look back and see how God has kept His covenant of love.
